Health Update

Okay, so I would never recommend breaking your elbow-- very bad place to break. I have finally finished physical therapy- Hooray!!! But I still have a ways to go on my range of motion. I get to wear this crazy, heavy brace. . .

There is a knob on it that makes it staighter and straighter. The doctor wants me to wear this 20 hours a day (ummm, did I mention that I have a 3 month old?). And how are you supposed to sleep with this thing? I feel like I am pretty good at sleeping with whatever-- the cast and first brace never bothered me at all. But this thing? Um, hmm. But I do try to wear it as much as possible and it is helping. Maybe someday I will be back to normal. . .

How did the baby get IN your tummy?

Okay, so I knew this question was coming someday-- we went through the "how does the baby come OUT of your tummy?" several months ago. I feel like I handled that one okay, but this one?!?! Oh crap! Brandon overheard the question and immediately jumps in. In the matter of less than a minute he explains it all in medically correct terms. Ummm, yeah. So Kira (and Kamber) know all about everything. Fortunately I don't think they really got it. (I am not sure I got it all. Does anybody know what inoculate means?) But at least I never have to worry about answering that question. So if any of you are worried about answering that question, I would be happy to rent out my husband for a very nominal fee. ;0)

The Great Sock Vendetta

So, Brandon has this pair of socks- his very favorite socks. They are thin, nylon running socks by Nike. Apparently they make all of his shoes fit perfect without cutting off the circulation and are the perfect ankle heighth. Anyway, we have tried to find more of this same kind of socks without success. Because we only have one pair, I have come to HATE this pair of socks. I always need to wash darks because he wants his one pair of socks washed. And if they don't manage to make it into the load of darks that I do, I get in trouble. And if he can't find them, we have to tear the house apart looking for them. Last night, as I was searching for his blessed socks in the dark, trying not to wake the baby, I mentioned in a whisper that I was starting to hate his socks. Do you know what his suggestion was? He said I should be more persistent in my shopping to find this EXACT kind of sock. Are you SERIOUS??? Now, while I usually love having an excuse to shop, taking three children around Las Vegas searching for a SPECIFIC pair of socks is NOT my idea of fun. So, if any of you out there DO enjoy sock shopping, here is a picture:

I would be happy to even throw in a tip to the shopper who actually finds the sock. And no, no other kind will work-- believe me, I've tried. The various stores at the mall have come to hate me, because I buy socks and then return them several days later.

Okay, I feel better now that I have gotten that off of my chest. Thanks for listening.

Award for Worst Cook Ever

And the Award for Worst Cook Ever goes to. . . . Leisel Payzant, who actually figured out how to ruin pre-made cookie dough cookies!

Thank you, thank you. I would like to thank my husband for wanting me to attempt making cookies, Costco for having their cookie dough on sale and to my own lack of ambition to really learn how to cook. And most of all to all my blogging friends and family, just cause I love ya!

Little Miss Discumbobulated

So, do any of you remember these guys?

They were my absolute favorite books when I was in second grade. They are still the cutest stories and my girls think they are fun.

I have always wondered which fits me the best. You know those people that are just "Little Miss Fun" or "Little Miss Sunshine" and it just suits them perfectly? I don't seem to fit any of those. Today I finally figured out what I am-- Little Miss Discombobulated. I have realized in the past week or so that I don't finish much but I am always busy. I will do part of one thing and then jump to another thing only to return MUCH later to the first thing! I don't get much accomplished that way and I am not very happy to have this as a part of who I am. I need to focus!!! Definitely something to work on.

(I was always a great speller in school-- I HATE the word definitely!!! Darn it!)

Hopefully I will improve enough that I will soon have to change my name to Little Miss Accompished. My husband would be very appreciative!
