The Great Sock Vendetta

So, Brandon has this pair of socks- his very favorite socks. They are thin, nylon running socks by Nike. Apparently they make all of his shoes fit perfect without cutting off the circulation and are the perfect ankle heighth. Anyway, we have tried to find more of this same kind of socks without success. Because we only have one pair, I have come to HATE this pair of socks. I always need to wash darks because he wants his one pair of socks washed. And if they don't manage to make it into the load of darks that I do, I get in trouble. And if he can't find them, we have to tear the house apart looking for them. Last night, as I was searching for his blessed socks in the dark, trying not to wake the baby, I mentioned in a whisper that I was starting to hate his socks. Do you know what his suggestion was? He said I should be more persistent in my shopping to find this EXACT kind of sock. Are you SERIOUS??? Now, while I usually love having an excuse to shop, taking three children around Las Vegas searching for a SPECIFIC pair of socks is NOT my idea of fun. So, if any of you out there DO enjoy sock shopping, here is a picture:

I would be happy to even throw in a tip to the shopper who actually finds the sock. And no, no other kind will work-- believe me, I've tried. The various stores at the mall have come to hate me, because I buy socks and then return them several days later.

Okay, I feel better now that I have gotten that off of my chest. Thanks for listening.

Award for Worst Cook Ever

And the Award for Worst Cook Ever goes to. . . . Leisel Payzant, who actually figured out how to ruin pre-made cookie dough cookies!

Thank you, thank you. I would like to thank my husband for wanting me to attempt making cookies, Costco for having their cookie dough on sale and to my own lack of ambition to really learn how to cook. And most of all to all my blogging friends and family, just cause I love ya!

Little Miss Discumbobulated

So, do any of you remember these guys?

They were my absolute favorite books when I was in second grade. They are still the cutest stories and my girls think they are fun.

I have always wondered which fits me the best. You know those people that are just "Little Miss Fun" or "Little Miss Sunshine" and it just suits them perfectly? I don't seem to fit any of those. Today I finally figured out what I am-- Little Miss Discombobulated. I have realized in the past week or so that I don't finish much but I am always busy. I will do part of one thing and then jump to another thing only to return MUCH later to the first thing! I don't get much accomplished that way and I am not very happy to have this as a part of who I am. I need to focus!!! Definitely something to work on.

(I was always a great speller in school-- I HATE the word definitely!!! Darn it!)

Hopefully I will improve enough that I will soon have to change my name to Little Miss Accompished. My husband would be very appreciative!

Two Months

How time flies! My little baby is now two months old. She weighs 10 pounds now and is smiling and making noises at us. She just discovered her tongue the other day and learned how to blow spit bubbles. She holds her tiny little head up so well. It bobbles around like a little bobble head toy. It is so stinkin cute! I was hoping to capture a picture of it--sorry it's a little blurry. I really suck at this photography thing!!!

Kendi still doesn't sleep that well and is still pretty fussy. And yet, we still love her!!!

Farewell to Summer!

With everything that happened this summer and with the start of school this fall, the end of summer just kind of snuck up on me without me even realizing it. We went to the pool on Friday night and oh my gosh! The pool was so cold! The cold water sort of shocked me into realization that summer is over! As hot as it is here in the summer, there are parts of it that are very fun and I was suprised to realize I was a little sad for it to be over. Kendi had come to the pool with us one other time and loved it but she was NOT fond of the cold water. (Everyone must have agreed, as we are all in the hot tub, as you can see!) So now I have to wait until next summer when she will be going on a year old!!! Wow, time keeps going faster and faster, doesn't it?

(And Brooke, I don't care if you break my camera AND my computer-- they really aren't worth that much-- but I think you look cute in the pool with the girlies!!!)

Let the competition begin!

Okay friends and family, my little competition bug has been sparked! My friend Brooke put a plug on her blog to ask all her friends and family to help her collect Box Tops for Education for her kids' school. And it got me to thinking. . . I bet MY family and friends would help me, too. . . maybe even MORE than her friends and family!!! ;0) Soooo, what do you think? Can you all help me collect these little box tops? Just look for them on all your food items-- I have found them on cereal boxes, boxed meals, Chex mix bags, all over! Just cut them out and save them-- for ME!!!! If you can't afford a stamp to send your collected box tops, just let me know and I will send one to you. For more info, go to http://www.boxtops4education.com/. And let the games begin!!!!

Soccer Pictures!

Sorry, I didn't remember my camera last week. Here are some of Kira's pics. The headband is cute, right? It has cute little dragonflies on it in honor of the team name- The Dragonflies.

The Newest Soccer Mom!

Today was Kira's first soccer game. Yeah! Kira's team, the Dragonflies, has purple uniforms. So, of course, Kendi, Kamber and I all wore purple to support the team. It was kind of a long drive to the field and there was construction on the way and the parking lot was super crowded and it was hard to find where her field was and I forgot sunscreen and I wasn't sure I wanted to be a soccer mom. But then the game started. It was so fun to cheer on my little Kira!!! Her team did great. Most of the girls have played before this season, so Kira has a little catching up to do as far as figuring out what she is supposed to be doing during the game. Most of the time she just ran around after the rest of the girls. Once in a while she just stood there, looking around. The coach and I kept trying to tell her to go steal the ball. She didn't really seem too worried about doing that until this GIANT girl comes in for the other team. She definetely didn't look 5, more like 7 and sturdy, if you know what I mean. Anyway, when Giant comes into the game, Kira finally decides it is time to start really playing. She takes off after this Giant girl and steals the ball from her!!! Crazy kid! But all in all, it was so much fun-- I guess I might make it as a soccer mom after all!

PS Brooke and I made dragonfly headbands for the team and they looked SOOOO cute!!! Sorry, I just had to throw that in. ;0)
