Random Thoughts

- Do you ever lie awake at night thinking of what you are going to write on your blog the next day? The "Wishful Thinking" part of my brain hopes that I am becoming a better writer by thinking my blog posts out for long periods of time. The "Reality" side just thinks I am sick!

- I hate parking. I really do. I am always afraid that I am going to hit the car next to me and it just stresses me out. Thus, I am a BFE parker. (I still don't really know what BFE is??). I choose parking spots at the back of the parking lot and walk. It really isn't that much farther and it is so much easier to get the babies out of the car if you don't have to worry about dinging the car next to you. Anyway, the point of my story, in Idaho, people don't seem to understand that I am parking out in the back, all alone, ON PURPOSE! They must think I am lonely or something, because invariably, when I come out of the store, there is at least one car parked RIGHT NEXT TO ME!!! Not a space away, in the space right next to me. Bothersome.

- Speaking of bothersome, does it bother anyone else that blogs read backwards? For example, while I am doing my blog surfing, I will at times fall in love with a blog. One that just clicks with me. They have the same values, morals, ideas, styles-- a perfect match. In order to get myself caught up on the blog, making sure I didn't miss any of their wonderous ideas, I get myself all confused timewise because I am reading backwards! It is like starting a book on the last page, in the bottom corner and going towards the front. Huh. You would think they--the computer genius out there in cyber space would have come up with a little better system.

-Another parking story. Every apartment we have lived in for the last nine years, Brandon and I have both found perfect little parking spots in the complex. They are always away from the crowd in a spot that no one else ever parks and that has plenty of room so that we don't get parking claustrophobia. These spots become "ours" in a sense, and we ALWAYS park there. After several weeks or months, randomly, someone will start stealing our spot. Maybe they have just moved in and don't know the "rules" yet, or maybe they just are not very observant, but I tend to think that they are just out to get the Payzants.
"Phase I of my evil plot is now complete! I shall next "walk the dog" across their walkway a few more times and the Payzant family will be driven to complete and total insanity!!! Mwa- hahahaha!!! (evil laugh)"

It has already begun here. . . how many more months in an apartment?!?!?

Tour of Twin

We went out and about on Saturday and I remembered to bring my camera (for the first time. . . EVER!). Here is a picture tour of our new little town (or village, as Kira calls it).

First, we went to our city square, which is across the street from the library. The library is awesome!

And the town square is darling! There is a fairly new playground set (the only one I have seen so far that doesn't look older than me!). And there are fountains and this cute little orchestra thinger-- whatever they are called. There is a board on it that says it was built in like 1918 or something like that. I wish I had taken a picture of the back too. It had ivy crawling up the cobblestone-like wall.

There are many big churches throughout town like this one. It suprised me, being that it is Idaho. . . but they are very picturesque.

Then we went to the falls. I am not sure if this is actually part of the "Twin Falls" or not, but it was called Shoshone Falls. Absolutely beautiful! And you can get suprisingly close on a little lookout point over the falls. Above the falls they have also blocked off a section that is just for swimming with a cute little park and picnic tables. Fun for the summer!

And here is our bridge. Apparently we are pretty proud of "our" bridge here in Twin. It is supposedly the only bridge across this canyon. . . or something like that.

So, that is pretty much it for now. Ta, ta!

Yummy Veggies!

Since moving to Idaho, I have decided to work on domesticating myself in the kitchen. I do not enjoy cooking and would eat chocolate for every meal of the day if it was up to me. This, of course, does not work for a family or my waistline. Anyway. . . I found these yummy veggies in the freezer section and they are GOOD! And easy! The two most important things. . . try them!

Okay, I couldn't find the right kind on this picture, but this potato seasoning is awesome! We have just tried the regular potato seasoning, but, oh my gosh! Love it! Again, very easy and very yummy!

Hello again, my favorite blog world!!!

Sorry I have been away so long! We didn't have internet for about a week and then we decided to go for a cheap route-- dial-up-- and ummm, I don't recommend it if you like viewing blogs or downloading pdf files in this century!!! But just to get up to speed. . . my baby turned 7 months. She now sits up-- very well, I might add. And-- hallelujah!!! She is sleeping SOOO much better! She wakes up only once or twice from 7pm to 7am. Wow! I can't believe how much better I feel with 6-8 hours of sleep. She now is over 12 pounds and finally fits in her sized 3 mos. clothes. And she smiles!!! Yeah!!! Here are some pics to show you how DARLING she is!!!

Brandon is still enjoying his "vacation", while we wait for some paperwork to go through. Officially start date is March 1.

I am LOVING discovering all the new little places in this fun city. I ventured to the "old" downtown today and it is darling! I wish I took good pictures, as I could post some ADORABLE pics of the cute shops and buildings, but alas, that is not my talent and my camera doesn't help the matter. But just for fun, I might try. . . I will keep you updated. ;0)

A Cat in the Sun

So, this is me since arriving in the land of cold-- laying in the warmth of the sun coming in through the windows.

We arrived safely in Twin Falls last Monday night/Tuesday morning. We came with a U-Haul, pulling a car and our other car-- sort of a moving train. Amazingly, the girls did fabulously- even Kendi. Kira and Kamber thought it was so cool to ride in the big truck with Dad. It was a nine hour trip with only three short stops for gas and feeding Kendi. And the roads were great with the exception of one little stretch of about 20-30 miles around Ely, Nevada. Not too bad.

We arrived at 1:00am in Twin Falls, with a temperature reading of 13 degrees, no place to park our big rig and three very tired little ones. Fun times! Our apartment was left open for us but was a chilly 60 degrees. We all just about froze that first night. Thankfully it has since warmed up-- otherwise I think I might have turned around the next day and driven back to Vegas! I can't believe how desert-ified I have become!

We have since unpacked, gotten sick, signed a contract and are now having fun exploring our new surroundings. Since I grew up in a small town and went to college in a small town, I assumed this move would be very easy to adjust to. But I have to admit, I have experienced a little culture shock since arriving. It is not quite like the cities I have been living in for the past eight years. But not to worry-- I am already begining to love this little city!

It actually is about the perfect size for a city- not too big, but not too small. They have just about all of my stores here (we are even getting a Cafe Rio! Yes!), with exception of Baby Gap. And a few things we haven't had before. Like WinCo foods-- cool grocery store! Sort of like Costco without having to buy in large quantities. I still haven't explored everything yet and hope to discover a few more fun things.

Our next adventure is to find a house. Yeah!!! I can't believe it! We are considering a house in Kimberly, Idaho, just outside of Twin Falls.

Yes, that is downtown Kimberly. Ummm, yeah. But the schools are very nice and new in Kimberly and the homes are nice and new as well. Wish us luck!
