Four Month Check Up

Kendi had her 4 month check up the other day. Any guesses on how much she weighs? Only 11 pounds, 12 ounces!!! She is a light-weight. But other than that, healthy, healthy. She is eating cereal pretty well now, but unfortunately it isn't helping her sleep any better. We still get up 2 or 3 times a night together. . . (sigh). Any suggestions on better sleeping habits would be great.

Isn't it amazing how quickly babies change? Since my last update, Kendi likes having her diaper changed, she isn't quite as fond of her bath as she used to be. She absolutely LOVES watching her sisters play. I am begining to think she like them better than me-- and I am the one that gets up with her all night! Rude! But her sisters really do help with her-- and they love her just as much as she loves them! Aren't sisters great?

We have finally decided that Kendi is pretty high strung for a baby. I can't remember if this is common for all babies, but Kendi holds her fists SOOO tight all the time. And according to Grandma and Grandpa Payzant, her daddy did that as a baby, too. And he is also high strung. Like daddy, like baby! She just never can relax.

We put Kendi to sleep on her tummy-- I know, I know-- but she sleeps so much better that way. But anyway, she has figured out how to roll over in her bed, so when she wakes up she will roll over. On the rare occasions that she is in a good mood, she will immediately smile up at you the second you get in sight, even if it is 3:30 in the morning! Little stinker!

Most days, Kendi's only good quality is that she is so stinkin cute-- but I LOVE her so very much anyway! I still can't get enough of her. And really she isn't that bad of a baby-- just a little fussy.

Baby Wise by Gary Ezzo helped my last baby to sleep on his own.

The basic plan is feed first, then play time, then put them to bed. Sometimes they are fussy or restless because they are trying to sleep on a full tummy and it is uncomfortable.

Adults don't usually go to bed on a full stomach, so it made sense to me.

He is also big on a routine. But, the best thing for me was the above formula. It worked well. I had two sleepers before the 3rd that didn't sleep through the night until they were 2! So, I know that this helped immensely with my 3rd.

What a cute little baby! Still can't believe how much she's grown.

I don't know much about the sleeping thing and Cheyenne didn't start sleeping through the night until about 7 or 8 months. Although she was waking up one time not 2 or 3 times so I really feel for you, I don't know how you do it.

I have heard a lot of great reviews with the Baby wise book...it is worth a try.

What a cute little stinker you have there. I love her big blue eyes especially. I cannot believe that she is 4 months old already.

As for the sleeping thing I read Baby Wise and that seemed to help with what I did with Carter, but I also think that each of these little ones have their own schedule and we are the lucky ones to work around it! I wish you luck and hope things look up in the sleeping department. Maybe since the girls are so much help with Kendi they should get up with her :)

Look how BLUE her eyes are!! She is getting SO HUGE. I know she doesn't weigh that much, but she is just starting to look like such a big girl! Love her!!

I have been told not to put babies on their tummy too, but I did it with Dallin and Addie because they slept better that way. With Makayla I have left her on her back, but she has to be in her swing or her bouncy chair to stay asleep, or in my arms. I put her on her tummy a couple days ago for nap-time and she actually slept in her bed for a couple hours... that's enough for me to keep doing it! (:
